Curriculum Vitae (CV)

What is a CV?
  • The curriculum vitae (CV) is a document that shows your experience and qualifications.
  • It is organized by various headings (ex. Examinations, Volunteering, Etc. )
  • There is no single format for the CV, multiple styles are acceptable
  • There are, however, a few conventions to keep in mind when writing them

What are the components of a CV?
  • Research
  • Externships/Observerships/Internships
  • Higher Studies
  • Volunteering and Community Service

Tips for Writing CV
  • I recommend adding as many experiences as you can to strengthen your CV
  • Experiences in the US carry more weight than experiences abroad
  • Don't fill it with fabricated information- if you get caught forget about getting accepted anywhere
  • If you are a re-applicant DO NOT apply with the exact same CV as last year- you have to show progress and commitment!
